Help with TW? Wallis? Hallmark

Post by glennseiler »

Need help...have no idea about this sugar tong.
Has very clear hallmarks...duty head, lion and block style date code of H.
The maker is a good clear mark as well...script TW. However, it does not exactly match others I have seen on line, either the W curl is different or the letter shapes are slightly off. Closest I have found is the Wallis mark...but I do not think that is it.
Thanks
GS

Looks like Thomas Wallis to me. Note that prolific makers like Wallis must have had several punches during their working life, all hand-made so they are bound to vary slightly from one to another.
