Can anyone date this st. christopher?

I've had this since I was quite young (70's, I think) and it's always looked quite worn. I didn't get it new. Just wondered if anyone could tell how old it is - just out of curiosity..

It's 1959. The hallmark is Chester and WJP is W J Pellow Ltd, a Birmingham company.
