Re: Hallmarks on Persian silver item
Grabing from this post http://www.925-1000.com/forum/viewtopic ... 12&t=38006 it looks like your item is ;
"Persia or Iran, the two top left characters are the Persian numerial for 84 or 870-1000 parts silver. The language is Farsi. Will let those who can actually read it translate that for you. "

Re: Hallmarks on Persian silver item
Well thanks for the quote but we certainly need better resources for Persian, Ottoman, and other Middle Eastern hallmarks and makers marks. Did make a contact with a scholar who had worked with the Khalil collection. Let's see if he has any suggestions.

An almost identical mark is described on another silver site as:
"marked by parvaresh( i think reza parvaresh)
parvaresh is greatest family in Isfahan in making handcrafted silver."
If you would like the link, pls pm me

Thanks Damon. Using google I found the site you mentioned.
So that takes care of the main hallmark, what about the other smaller mark on the left? Can anyone read it?
