I have a silver bound bible that has only 2 different marks. The inside edge is stamped N and 13. The latch is stamped 13. I did see that the N stands for Nurnberg (Nuremberg) and the 13 for .812 silver content. I cannot find any maker’s mark. This is small in size measuring 4” X 3” X 1 1/8”. I have checked the section on pseudo hallmarks with no luck. I am not sure if the bible is original to the cover but it probably dates to late the 1800’s (no date). Are the markings done to deceive or should there be other marks somewhere on this? Any help would be much appreciated.
Best regards,
Jenny
