Another item from my grandfather's collection, a silver vase about 5" tall. I hope the hallmark isn't upside down!
I would like to learn more about its origin & composition. Thanks! Hank

Re: Antique Persian Vase
Good morning,
Your marks on in the correct position. There are actually four there. In the lower right you can see the Persian numerial 84 as 870/1000 parts silver. Will let someone else translate them. Do you have any idea which Persian city your grandfather's suppliers worked from?
Warren
ps: do try to shoot future images in indirect day light filtered through a drap without flash, it obscures too much of the detail.

Warren - Thanks for your response. I'm not sure which side of the family this vase came from. Three possible areas are Khoy, Tabriz, or the area of Afion kara hisar. The moral: ask questions while people are still alive.
It would be great to get more info from the hallmarks.
