Sterling Spoon - Mythological Design - Sterling Mark Only

Post by GWF »

Hello. I've had a few previous questions answered by people on this forum and I'm hoping someone can help me out again. I have a Spoon with a Shell Bowl and very interesting pattern that includes a winged creature / figure, but no marks except the word sterling.

Nice piece - the pattern is 'Cleopatra', introduced in 1874 or '78 (depending on reference source) by Schulz & Fischer of San Francisco, fairly common for their goods to be unmarked.

Thank you for the information. I thought it was of an Egyptian style, but I had been unable to locate an exact match and though I noticed some Whiting pieces that seemed the closest they were not as sparsely marked as this one.
