Hi all, i am quite new on french silver hallmarks and have been searching the maker and the details of this silver case.
Can anyone please help me out with this?
The only matching hallmark was the 1809 - 1819 Face (could be correct... )
But couldn't find the Makers name...
Plus there is a scorpion mark with the number 23 on the bow which i couldn't find any information about too.
If anyone reconize these marks and have a free minute to reply that would be really great. Thanks a lot in advance.
Best regards
NG

Re: Scorpion 23 / E X G
New to the board; hoping someone might have a little follow up on this, as all the pictures have been removed over the years from the original posting. I, too, have a pocket watch with the Scorpion 23 / EXG hallmark. The case also has one other diamond shaped marking on the inside of the back cover, sideways/letters within the diamond shape: 1) HIM
Other than those two marks, the other stamps are the single number 2; single letter P (both on the ball at the top of the case, which is where the Scorpion 23 mark is); and inside the number 576410 with T13 below that.
My watch is currently being repaired, so I am unable to take pictures at this time. If I'm reading the previous replies correctly, the case was made in France. Is that right? The watch-works themselves have no marks my watchmaker has found (odd).
Thank you for any help you can offer.
