Hi all,
I found these forks in a charity shop recently. All my efforts to identify and date the hallmarks have failed so far.
I believe they are French, possibly Parisian, but as always I am happy to be corrected and pointed in the right direction.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Best Wishes
Andy

Hi Oel
Thank you very much for your reply. That is very interesting. What is it about the marks that tells you they are silverplated?

Re: Pair of French Forks
Hi Andy, the four marks are a typical combination of marks used by the silver-plate makers to imitate the official row of hallmarks used by the various assay offices.
See for plate marks:

Compare with official hallmarks:

For starters, if you like to study a little, buy the book; International Hallmarks on silver collected by Tardy.
Best,
