French silver spoon with unknown maker

Post by sebastian4743 »

I have got in front of me a spoon. Here are the photos of the marks.

The minerva mark (800 purity) is legible though the maker's mark is not as for me. Maybe you can identify it? Is there something I can do to make the mark more legible?

And one more thing, from when did France applied this minerva mark? Thank you!

Hi Sebastian could you another pics of the makers mark because it looks to me indecipherable!

About the Minerva, it starts appearing from the 10th of May 1838.

Smoka

Thanks Smoka for your reply. I cannot make any better picture then this provided. I assume it has to be for ever indecipherable. The mark is very small and probably also quite shallow as the shell texture might be seen.
