Art Deco Plated and Oak Tazza Mystery Cross or Club Mark

Recently aquired a very nice Art Deco tazza, the main body in silver plate wth a central column of oak. It has a very small rubbed mark which is a square with either a centred cross constructed from dots, or a club shaped (as in playing cards) emblem below the arms of the cross or club are two initials one is total unreadable the other is a D.

This piece came from an auction which included a good selection of 20th Century silver and plate most in modern styles and mainly from European countries in Scandinavian, Franch and Germany. I suspect this piece may be French. Any further help would be much appreciated as the quality of this item indicates that the maker of this piece knew their trade well.

Hi Martra,
Yes, it is French and made by Ravinet d'Enfert, a respected manufacturer. I hope someone can follow up with more detailed information on this maker.

Hi Tom,
thanks for your input, much appreciated. I had wondered if this was the work of Ravinet d'Enfert as it fitted in with their style and type of manufacture for the period however I could only find reference to a similar mark set in a diamond rather than a square.

If someone can confirm that Ravinet d'Enfert had variations on the diamond version of their mark I'd really like to hear from you. Thanks - martra.

Their diamond format mark would have been reserved for silver, the rectangular format for silverplate.
