Dear All,
Just discovered this forum whilst searching for info on a soup ladel I've just been given. I've not yet got photos, but using this site I think the D in Minerva's head means Rotterdam Assay, the gothic M with closed right leg means 1881 and the Lion Passant with arabic 2 means 833 silver. There is a rectangular cartouche with B&M above what appears to be a 6-pointed star. I will post pics of all when possible -I've seen the instructions! Any thoughts on the B&M? NO other marks of any sort on the piece.
Thanks in advance,
Rupert

Dear All,
Thanks VERY much for your time and patience. It was not possible to post pics earlier, which is why I said so!
Many thanks in particular to Oel, most appreciate your support.
This spoon has been owned by a German family since at least the 1920s, and was assumed to be German. It made its way this year back to The Netherlands via the USA and North Cyprus. Go figure!
Thanks again all.
Best,
Rupert
