Dutch possible DS mark + sword mark

Post by Essexboy Fisher »

Hello, just bought this souvenir type spoon. I am unable to any work out any extra information from the sword mark and lack the knowledge to make use of the Netherlands makers mark web site (I did see lots of adverts for new silver stuff though).
From the picture below can I get some help from the forum regarding maker and date of manufacture.

Additionally can any member of the forum clarify for me the detail and differences in the 3 sword marks outlined in the guide on our web sites world silver marks overview. Thank you.

Hi Fishless, I like Fishmore.

Maker's mark D S with a dahlia in the middle for : C. Schoorl & J.A. Dal / J. G. Sauveplanne & F. Hemelrijk, all also known as the firm Dahlia, city of Amsterdam, registered 1920-1958.

Thank you Oel for such a quick reply to my post. Double thank you for turning this post into a “bookmark” for me for such useful resources. I didn’t recognise the image as a dahlia, in fact I had to look very carefully to decide that the lettering was “DS” and not “SO”.
Incidentally I too like fish more but when you go to the beach you have to accept what happens.
