Petracco, who was he?

I recently bought a ladle with the Austria Hungary mark after 1867. The mark is so blurred that I can not understand more.

Instead, there is a clearly legible mark "Petracco".

Someone knows this silversmith?

Doing more research on the Internet I found that the surname Petracco in Italy to 69% is located in Friuli Venezia Giulia. It therefore seems likely that the mark is that of Trieste.

If it's from Triest, the assay office's mark is "M" in the Diana.

Hi Amena,

Just speculating, could the third mark be the 'chalice' of Jarosinski & Vaugoin? If so, it would be strange as it thought not to have been introduced until 1930, but perhaps its use was earlier?

As I said, the head of Diana is very blurry and even after it has been cleaned , even with a powerful loupe I can't see the letter of the city.It is likely that Trev is right, the two marks look like, even if they are not exactly identical.

In this case Petracco could be a retailer.
