Repousse Sterling Top Dresser Jar - Help deciphering mark

Post by dasis72 »

I have a glass dresser jar with a sterling top. Looks like the makers mark is hand engraved and I can't make out the name. Does anyone recognize this signature? The makers signature is followed by the word 'Sterling' and then followed by another number that looks to be 911. Any assistance is greatly appreciated!

It looks like a well worn Wallace trademark. Have a look here: http://www.925-1000.com/americansilver_W.html

Wow. I believe you are right! Thanks so much. I would have never been able to see it.

Thanks again!
