Thank you very much for your help, I just tried to embed my images through imageshack and always got a message: "It was not possible to determine the dimensions of the image. Please verify that the URL you entered is correct."

Hello, I have not got another silver mug, but this post does have some useful references pertaining to a salt spoon I just got hold of. There is not a lot of definition to this spoon’s unsophisticated marks but with an elephant, it looks to be made by Hamilton & Co of Calcutta. The spoon is 4 inches (10 cms) long.



We have elsewhere on our Forum numerous references relating to "Hamilton & Co" including one showing a teaspoon with similar marks to the salt spoon including the nearly an "A" mark.

This teaspoon has a suggested dating to "circa 1820" so can this salt spoon be though as of the same period? Do we have ideas about the nearly "A" mark?
