Is this Austrian silver?
The mark says WB and has the Diana's head mark in a 6-sided shape with number 3. Is this .800 silver from 1867-72? There is no letter for a city. I am not sure I am interpreting the marks page correctly. Who is WB? Any chance of finding this out? Thanks so much!

Re: Is this Austrian silver?
Hello, it is Hungarian, 1937-65. The pattern is an old Klinkosch pattern, number 96, from around 1900, which was made for a bunch of retailers all across the Austrian-Hungarian empire. Some more info on the pattern can be found here

Are you sure this reads WB and not WR or WP ? And is there a symbol between the two letters like a dot, a dash etc. ? Regards, Bahner

Thanks for the information. I never thought to look at the Hungarian marks. I am 95% sure it is WB since I have more pieces of this and I have looked at them through a loupe and I'm pretty sure it's WB without anything in between. The other 5% makes me think it could be WE. I doubt I will find out the maker. I just wanted to confirm it is .800 silver and now that is clear to me. Thanks!
