Repousse Fork Pattern Identification
Repousse Fork Pattern Identification
I take the trademark to be Baltimore Silversmiths Manufacturing Company, but the name of the pattern if it was named is the question. Any help will be very much appreciated.

Re: Repousse Fork Pattern Identification
Hi, Pat. Have handled several pieces in this pattern over the years, with some variants and different backmarks. Schofield called the pattern 'Hand Chased Rose' even though it was die-struck, referencing the original Klank pattern, which actually was hand-chased (though they also made a die-struck version), Stieff called it 'Baltimore' - from what I can make out in the pic, yours appears to be 'channel-back'. You'll find a good bit of information on Scott Perkins' Stieff research site (suspect he'd like the images of your piece): 'Baltimore' aka Channel Back

Thank you Cheryl. As always, you are amazing. I did send images to the e-mail address on Scott Perkins' Stieff site.
