Any ideas where my ring came from?

I bought this 2 years ago from a little antique type place, but I've never found out anything about it even after scouring all over the Internet
Stamps are a 'JWJ', an anchor and half a lion, the rest has disappeared I assume due to wearing. I'd just love to know more about it as I love it so much.
pictures don't want to upload but it's what I presume to be a 7-stoned garnet ring, with swirled carvings along each side
