I recently obtained a pair of sauce ladles stamped for 1830-31 London and a maker's mark as below:
The seller identified this as a William Johnson issue. However, I cannot find this mark or the name in my standard references (Jackson's, Fallon and this site). Might someone illuminate me as to this maker and mark, including reference? TIA!
P.S. - It's taken me over an hour to wrestle this image to the screen using Photobucket, which is continually drowning my computer with a tsunami of advertisements, including incredible Flash Plugin inundations, plunging my poor computer to Davy Jones locker, drowning a lingering death, with many minutes between screens before finally giving up the ghost. Any recs regarding a user friendlier photo service? Photobucket simply sucks.

Scroll down, there is a W <pellet> J which the site has as William Johnson (probably)

Re: W<pellet>J Mark?
Thanks for the makers' marks link. I think I had this bookmarked once, but it fell to the wayside, need to add it back to the repertoire. I see that also inserts Flash Plugin ads, will have to see if it's as burdensome as Photobucket. Thanks again!

You're welcome. I think you will find most of the free photo hosting sites will have some form of advertising.
