Letter knife

Post by sebastian4743 »

Hi all!

I bought a small but cute letter opener. I think it originates from Japan. Can you tell me more about it? Thank you for your time!

Hi Sebastian,

That is a typical example of Yogya silver.

See: http://www.925-1000.com/a_yogya.html

Maker is likely to be PE(DELUXE)(JAVA)

Thank you Trev - you were very helpful. What do you think was this letter opener manufactured? 30/40s?

PS. What does DELUXE mean? I noticed it is used by some of the silver workshops.

I really don't know on both counts I'm afraid. You should be able to translate the script on that website, hopefully the information will be in there, somewhere.
