I have two plates and two trays w/ Ganzemuller ? Is it a German maker, or an American?

Hi.

I need help finding out about this maker. I posted here because of the obviously German name. Do you think they are sterling or coin silver? Please let me know what you think or know.

There are no silver marks that I know of, what purity of silver was being used?
