german or dutch ?? who can help , please ?

i just received a wonderful claret jug - it is nearly unmarked - something very hard to photograf on the lid..
but what do you think - the charakter is german , isn`t it ?
at christies the thaught dutch - but i can not belive it .. what do you say ?
time is of course 1880 - the turtle is rather interesting - the whole things looks to me like a story - but which story ) neptun . mermaid - turtle = hm

I saw one similar to this sold many years ago in a sale in Lancashire and it was presented as Austrian..It did have marks on the lid which concurred with this....very hard to attribute it to anywhere when unmarked unless a particular craftsman can be identified.
