A three-piece tea set by S. Garrard. Fully hallmarked for London 1927. Journeyman’s mark, too. But the screw of the finial is marked G dot H. The only possible London maker could be George Howson, reg. 1919. Is it possible someone else was commissioned to make finials, screws etc. for S. Garrard? It’s very unlikely the screw and the finial were taken from another teapot (the same wood, perfectly fitting parts etc).
Thanks for looking.
