it looks like George Wintle 1801 London but I'm not sure about that " E ".... can anybody help ...???

The date letter is the "d" which makes it 1819. E is probably a journeyman's mark.

Hi Ben,

I agree with Phil it is London, George Wintle, 1819 and the most likely reason for the "E" being a journeyman's mark.

I noted your dating of 1801 which I assume was because you referenced the Birmingham date chart rather than the London one? Just trying to ensure you understand why it's 1819 and not 1801?
