Metal detector find from Finland

Post by tkoivuro »

Hi all!

During on of my recent trips i found this thing:

Swedish year stamp seems to say its from 1849 which sounds about right, i have found several mid 1800s coins from same area.

But rest of the markings expect the tree kronor stamp are little bit mystery to me. Makers stamp appears to be N P and then something, maybe Y.

Any suggestions?

The “H” with star above is the city mark of Haparanda, and the maker “NPF” is Nils Petter Forsberg (1806-1877), working in Haparanda 1831-1857.

Hope this helps!
