Pocket Watch

Post by marticj »

I have been given a pocket watch from my family and after 4 hrs on this site and net net are none the wiser. As my family came from england i assumed so was the watch but none of its marks come even close.

Its a pocket watch with "arcadia" on the dial.

It is marked ".925" in an oval
It is marked "GS" there doesnt appear to be a "." between the 2 letters
It is marked "n" in a box but the bottom of the box has 2 bumps that almost connect to the bottom of the n
It is marked "V" its in a circle but parts around the v are raised and connected to the top, left, right and bottom. So the v and outer rim are indented but the inner surround of the v isnt. the surround of the v connect to edge of the stamp.

Sorry i dont have a picture :-(

ANY help would be great.

Hi there, i was wondering if you had found out more about your pocket watch? I also have a pocket watch but have no information about it. It says 925 in oval like yours and also has GS.
Would be very grateful if you could let me know what you find out.
