Hard to read mark

Post by Adam.NYC »

I'm guessing this is Danish but could really be anything. I don't know how to read the mark. It looks like BES, 3 crowns or towers?, S, H12, 830. I know the 3 towers would be Danish but I'm really confused.

No, not Danish but Swedish. Indeed difficult read the marks because your picture is out of focus. Take a new one, anyway, what can seen from the "smudge" is BES that is Bror Schalin 1946- in the town of Östersund, the cat's paw i.e. fineness 830/1000, the hexagon (=silver mark). The rest is a mess.

Here are some different angles. These marks are really tiny!

If the date mark is H10, I suppose that's 1972?
