Re: Help Identify Asian silver Spoon Possibly Iranian
Good day 42jbb,
The design and the work is not familar to me personally but looking at the fourth image, it does appear to read HOS 1735. May I ask you to reshoot closeup images of the stem and finial as well as the marks. Note: shoot them in indirect daylight, camera on the macro setting without flash. If they don't come out just keep trying, you'll get it.
Then let's see what other members think.

42,
Can not view the images on my older iPad or my HP laptop. Make sure to use the preview button before posting.

Re: Help Identify Asian silver Spoon Possibly Iranian
I've been having a good laugh over this post for quite a while. The spoon couldn't be farther away from home.
Even without a clear photo of the marks, it is quite obviously a Norwegian early to mid-eighteenth century spoon.
Thank you for this post that proves a point I have tried to make, over and over again, that Asian and Middle Eastern Silver is the neglected purgatory of this website, a place few contributors ever venture near.
I think that once an Admin places this in its proper section, there will be multiple responses from those far more knowledgeable.
Word to the wise: better to post in "Other Countries" than in this section.

Hello David,
Good to hear from you. I was also thinking of central to northern European but honestly do want to get a better look while we wait for an informed response
