Hello,
I am hoping someone in the forum can help with identifying the makers mark on this Georgina period sterling salt cauldron that came out of London.
It is well rubbed so I am likely not going to be able to definitively identify it but I am hoping for a miracle!
It has the date mark for 1749 so I am hoping this will narrow down the possibilities.
My apologies for the quality of the hallmark pictures in advance but they are the best I could get.
Worn makers mark help
Re: Worn makers mark help
Further to this I believe the hallmark ends in a W or maybe starts with an M?
The style of cellar reminds me of Edward Wood but the partial hallmark does not really correspond.
Would anyone hazard some possibilities?

Re: Worn makers mark help
Partial marks of lion passant and date letter ``O``.Unfortunately, that`s not enough. Can you give us all marks, please?
Re: Worn makers mark help
The pic shows all 4 marks, the date stamp, the partial lion passant, the city mark (I believe) and the very rubbed makers mark showing only the faint remains of either a W or M.
