American Sterling Mark on Pitcher?

I have looked and looked and I cannot find this mark referenced anywhere. The seller thinks it is American or possibly Dutch? What do you guys think? The 9 and most of the 2 of .925 is missing, but I assume it is a sterling piece.

You will see that it is likely to be South American, perhaps Columbian.

Thank you, it does look fairly similar to some of those marks.
