more hallmarks for the mind... I am totally new to this, very interesting indeed, feels like an investigator...
with these marks on this incense holder I have got No clue whatsoever...
The P.FC mark should be the one of
Pietro Fera consul in Naples in the years 1725-1730; 1734; 1738
The mark badly struck(the crown, the written NAP and date) should be 728 or 738.
There should be other identical marks on the lid. If you post photos of those I could be more precise.
It seems to me that the marks belong to the incense boat in the foreground.
Can you also give us news of the one in the background?
Nice find anyway.
Congratulation
Amena
Dear amena, thank you for your reply.
I have a hard time to find the identity of the marks for this incense holder and I canoot see any marks on the top of the lid. The second insence holder, the one on the back of the image, has no marks at all, is this possible?
Yes, it is possible. Sometimes there is only the makers' mark , and sometimes not even that.
Even the one in the background has the style used in Naples between the eighteenth and early nineteenth century.
