arabic (?) box

Does anybody know what this box is used for and what is depicted on the box. Does anybody recognize the hallmarks? Thanks!

Hi,
Very likely Persian (Iran).
Both the motif and one of the marks 84 in Arabic (.875) led to the conclusion.
But the marks are small. Better close up images will be appreciated.

Yes,it`s Iran (84 mark in Arabic is upside down).
A Farsi speaker could decipher the second mark (maker`s mark or less probably town mark which should be longer,I suppose).The Arabs cannot help much:they would recognize letters but not the meaning,being Farsi language.
