Grimwade Updates

Today marks a milestone on the Grimwade Updates.

We have now reached the Two Thousandth Silversmith whose biography has been updated, augmented or in a very few cases corrected.

And those biographies have had an amazing 670,817 number of hits (counted a month ago).
By now probably over 671,000 hits. Which is fantastic for a very specialist subject.
Plus users of the index, which totals 18,633 hits.

It’s taken slightly over four years and a great deal of effort by :
Mike (MCB) 1956 posts. His loss is still mourned. This site is in many ways a memorial to him.
Pat (silverly) 1030 posts. Who gallantly now carries the torch.
Clive (Buckler) 491 posts. Who carries on the bucklemakers and keeps the Index.
Trev (dognose ) Who also supports us when we flag.
And others whose input is equally appreciated.

And the work goes on !

Over 70 of the biographies have had over 1,000 hits, 16 of them over 2,000

But, personal triumph, the most read, with a gratifying 6,392 hits is -
John FAUX, a bucklemaker !
