Exeter spoon? Unknown maker...

I've looked for this maker P.F but cannot find reference to any P.F in Jacksons. This looks like an Exeter teaspoon but any help to identify it would be great thanks.

I agree that this looks like an Exeter mark but Miles Harrison's excellent book "Exeter & West Country Silver" does not illustrate a PF mark. One possibility with the right initials is Peter Flood of Exeter who sent items for assay between about 1794 and 1801. To back this up the lion passant seems to match the one used from 1798 to 1804 (see the Exeter Lions page).

Thanks Phil, I emailed Miles initially with no picture and he thought maybe it was a worn Richard Ferris mark so now he has pictures to show otherwise.

It's always interesting to find things like this that are not well known.

Miles has confirmed it is a new makers mark and said that Peter Flood was not recorded as having bought in any spoons for assay but his name does fit the initials and period of the spoon.

I guess this spoon will be hard to positively attribute for now.
