Hello,
i have some question about Hamburg before 1888.
1, What purity was standard this time?
This spoon was RTG measured (two locations) and silver content is greater than 13 - almost 14 loth (85,5-87,8 % Ag). Interesting is also high lead content, typical for old (i.e. low quality) silver
2, What means letters in Hamburg hallmark? In my case it is probably "D". I suppose these letters represents actual assayer? Somebody know period of use for letter D?
3,Somebody able identify maker F.S.?
Many thanks for interest and help
