What-is-it question V

Post by Granmaa »

Here's a particularly fiendish one. I believe it's about 18cm long and made around 1830.
No clues!

My wild guess is a spoon boat or tray.

No, you're not warm at all Pat!

A rather cryptic clue for you: it's not directly related to food and drink.

A bordaloue, a chamber pot for ladies.

Very well done Pat. Did my clue give it away?

Some info:
A Jesuit priest named Louis Bordeloue (1632-1704) gave a most beautiful and lengthy sermon, so lengthy in fact that young ladies passed around a female urinal, now called a "bordeloue", in order not to miss his oratory.

Thanks Miles.
A chamber pot was one of my first ideas, but I didn't check it out until after your clue.
