Hanau pseudo mark - unidentified

Post by antiquer »

Hello All,

I'm looking to identify this mark, it is on a typical Hanau type repousse sugar and creamer of average quality.

Many thanks,
A in A

Hello, there was a maker Foell and Co., producer of silver holloware, documented in Hanau around 1919 and no longer listed in the late 1920ies. His mark was not documented and I am not sure what letters I am seeing here, but maybe this is his mark ? Regards, Bahner

If it is Foell and Co, and if the mark is 'FG', could this indicate the partnership of Jakob Foell and Karl Gluth?:

Hanau. Die Firma Foell & Comp., Bijouteriefabrik, wird nach Ausscheiden des Gesellschafters Ziseleur Karl Gluth und nach Auflösung der offenen Handelsgesellschaft von dem seitherigen Gesellschafter Kaufmann Jakob Foell als Einzelkaufmann fortgeführt.
