Mystery Birmingham makers' mark - CV & Co - help appreci

Post by scarma »

Hi there,

I recently bought a beautiful beaten silver pendant with heart-shaped enamel decoration on both sides.

The pendant is clearly marked for Birmingham 1907 with a makers' mark of CV & Co. Does anybody have an idea who CV & Co were?

I would like to know more about the pendant but have been unable to find the mark in any books. I would really appreciate any help that you could offer.

Many Thanks,
Margaret

Could the first letter be a G? If so, that would be Gourdel Vales & Company.

Hi Pat,

Thanks for getting back so quickly!

I've just double checked and I'm pretty sure it's a C.

I've finally managed to upload a picture. I hope it is clear enough, photography is not my forte!

It's available at:

Many Thanks, Margaret

Looks to me like CY&Co but I still would not know who it is.
