Bacelet Taxco Silver?
Re: Bacelet Taxco Silver?
Hi,
To be honest, I cannot see ``eagle mark``, besides, it was not struck in the middle of the oval like this, or I have not seen it centered. Eagle mark should guarantee sterling, but it was misused too often and eventually discontinued. Fortunately, misuse seldom included it being struck on non-silver alloys but exchanged between silversmiths, making non-registered punches to avoid taxation etc.
One should be cautious with Mexican items missing ``sterling`` or ``925``. I have seen bracelets marked sterling Taxco on the clasp, the mark on the bracelet was an oval with imitated eagle mark of completely different form in the middle and it was exactly what it said: sterling clasp and alpaca bracelet.
The design is common crushed turquoise mosaic within a resin base.
Regards
