Hello All. I'm having difficulty with some of these marks. It was barely recognizable as a spoon when I got it, but has cleaned up nice.
I believe the Crowned V is the Import Mark, and the mark next to that the Office Mark? This is as far a I could get for now. Any help appreciated.
Yes oel is quite right. It is a Swedish spoon. The marks from left:
Town mark of Växsjö (crownedf V/W), maker's mark Samuel Svanberg (20.8.1789-28.7.1825) master 1814-1825, year mark (M3) for 1818. It is an interesting maker's mark because it seems to be unrecorded. Svanberg usually used on his initials SS but this is a new one (at least to me :-)) Nice to see a new mark once in a while, thanks.
