Hi all, noob here.
Have found this item during a turn-out. I've never seen it before, it must have been in my mother's stuff when she passed away. I'm interested to know it's purpose, and the marks on the back are puzzling me, as there is no 'conventional' hallmark that I recognise. Is it a double-ended implement, for pickle or some such? Overall length is 7.3 inches. Thanks for any help.
Elkington item
Re: Elkington item
Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
The item is a lobster pick, a tool for removing the flesh from lobsters, crayfish, crabs, etc.
It's silver-plated, so no hallmarks.

Brilliant, thanks Trev, much appreciate your help.
Wonder why my old mum had it, I don't think she ever came close to eating lobster!
