Hello,
somebody can clarify me this silver plate marking?
I don't know why there are two maker marks (RS and HD) and what it mean? Possibly some coopperation
between these two makers? I don't have seen two maker marks on Wienna silver never before.
Third mark, Schwarz&Steiner, is probably retailers mark, this is nothing unusual.
But, another question is mark of three circles. It is very similar to Krupp from Essen logo. But Krupp produce
steel and iron, not silver. Or? This mark is absolute mystery for me.
Many thanks for your interest
M.
Vienna plate, Krupp Essen?
Re: Vienna plate, Krupp Essen?
Hello Martin!
The RS mark is the mark of Rudolf Steiner. He had a common factory with Julius Schwarz. So I think, it's account for 2 marks. And in the Neuwirt we can find a mark with HD with a dot: Huber & Dolezalek.
Maybe this is a clue.
I can't identify the mark with the circles, but I saw earlier with the same marks of Steiner.
Hope this helps.
Best regards!
Krisztián
