Pillbox- Yugoslavia-silver 935 - fourleaf clover hallmark

Dear all,

Am trying to find more information on a gift from my grandmother. She received it probably in1923-5 in Yugoslavia from the family of the King of Yugoslavia.
The pill box has a four leaf clover hallmark, 935 silver and another smaller hallmark ( oblong) which I cant distinguish as so smaller. Number 85089.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,
The clover marks is Vienna Silberwarenfabrik Alexander Sturm.
Monogram of King Aleksandar I Karagiorgevich and Queen Maria of Yugoslavia (Her parents were Ferdinand of Romania and Marie of Edinburgh).They married in 1922. The King was assassinated in Marseilles, France in 1934.
So, it can be dated after 1922.
The royal house was known to have imported high quality silver from Austria.

Try to take better image of that small mark. It is too small for Yugoslavia import mark at the time and does not look like import mark used 1919 – 1933 (horse head).
This is enameled royal cipher from another box.

The box is enameled, meaning all marks must have been struck before enameling for obvious reasons.
So, small mark could be Austria mark for small articles (dog head).
The number is of no importance at all, serial,inventory number for manufacturer`s use.

The small mark is impossible to decipher even with the human eye - but it could possibly be the dog head although so tiny you cant make it out or could it fit?
