Hi everyone,
Wondering about this spoon. Does anyone know this mark? Is it Provincial English? Or maybe European?
It seems the crest and motto could be Bain or Ferguson.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.

Re: Rat-Tail Hanoverian - MM with Crescent above
The cross is the town mark of Tallinn/Revel, Estonia, C above MM is the mark of Christian Mathias Möring, working from 1742 - 1787.

Hi,
From Ivanov:
Johann Friedrich Moering from Tallinn, the son of Christian Moering (no middle name).
Recorded October 1782 as the member of foreign guild, worked in St Petersburg until 1795.
``Foreign guild`` means he did not belong to Russian assay offices, but what foreign guild with Tallinn within Russian Empire?
The local self-government institutions after 1710 when incorporated into Russian Empire ?
That would explain ``cross town mark`` and no Russian assaying.
You will excuse me for not being familiar with the issue. Clarification is appreciated.
