Hi Steve,

Welcome to the Forum.

Not Russian, but Mexican. Have a trawl through this reference: http://www.925-1000.com/mexican_marks.html

Hopefully another member with more knowledge of Mexican makers can offer a positive ID.

Hi, I can read the initials "JV" and the first name "JACOBO", and yes, this is a piece from Taxco, Mexico. Hope this helps you a little.

J.N. Jacopo (I know, it looks like Jacobo, and that's an "N" not a "V").
"The Jacopo brothers operated a silverhouse in Mexico City called Arte en Plata, later to be renamed as Joyas de Plata. Many items they sold were made by independent silversmiths located in Taxco." (Mexican Silver Hallmarks book)
