Thank you for adding me to the forum.
I have researched all of the sites I can find with no conclusive results for the SM mark on this style bracelet. I have seen what seems to be a lighter weight "copy" of my bracelet with only the 925 mark. I also see the same style bracelet advertised as Van Kempen Sterling Silver" but they do not show any markings or even the back of the bracelet. They also have "Payong1997Company" in the listing, which tells me it is probably an Asian company manufacturing "clones".
I have done the magnet test and the white cloth polish test, which indicate my bracelet to be silver. I was told when I purchased the bracelet that it was "old" silver, but the 925 reputes that. I would like to know if my bracelet is "real" or repro/fake and what does the SM mark mean. It looks very similar to the Sampson Mordan SM mark, but I doubt this to be one of their designs.
Any information is appreciated.
Thanks for all the work and help that the forum provides.
