Please help me with identification of this item:
what is the purpose of this item? what is the country of origin and the date of manufacturing period?
Size 3 x 2,5 cm.

Hi,
A pyx for carrying the Eucharist to the sick (the scull for ‚‚memento mori‚‚).
Google for ‚‚silver Pyx for Holy Communion‚‚
Agnus Dei (Lamb of God), unknown abbreviation and maker and ‚‚Alpha Omega‚‚

Hi,

Pyx box to hold consecrated host (Eucharist), usually a small round or oval container. Here the the container is divided in four small compartments. I am not sure it is a pyx box.

Can you suggest something about the mark?
About the country of origin?
On the box engraved is "1745". Do you think it can apply to this period?

Hello again,
Peter has pointed out four compartments. They are really too small for Eucharist.
The Pharmacopeia Extemporanea lists many 18th century pills:

But having in mind Agnus Dei engraved to the lid it could be a relic box, too:

Snuffbox is excluded for obvious reasons (too small compartments).
Btw. there are many rings described as ``poison rings`` as if everybody was a murderer and with so many ``poison rings`` around, European population would have been extinct. They are possibly also meant to contain pills or medicinal powders.
I think there is no reason to doubt mid 18th century. Unfortunately, no idea about it`s origin.
