German silver 900

Hello
I need please help to identify this mark.
I have put in German silver because look germany, is marked 900 with near sign and the name of silversmith but I have not identify.
I apologize if I have a wrong section but the style looks German although the name does not so much ..
Someone has some more information?

Hi, welcome to the forum. I can not read the name clearly but if it reads M. Tandigan(?) it could be a Filipino name. If so perhaps a silver tray for serving prepared quids. See:

Moving this to the 'Middle East' forum because to my eye, from the overall look, the '900' fineness, and the surname ending in 'yan', suspect that this piece may be Armenian...

Hi,
The post has already been moved to Middle East section.
The name does look Armenian with - yan ending (but possibly also - gan). But where would one expect maker`s name in Latin letters in Middle East ?
Sometimes in Israel.
As far as I can see pierced panels are the same, die stamped and assembled. Simplified technique unlike most of German and Dutch pierced baskets of this kind being stamped as a single piece with more elaborate die.
Let`s wait.

I would agree that the decoration does look similar to that found on some German silver but I have also seen a similar type of decoration and pressed work on Turkish pieces (Ottoman and post Ottoman). I think if I had to guess one way or another I would tend to side with the view that it could be an Armenian silversmith of post Ottoman Turkey.

Past auctions (c. 2013) indicate name M. Tariliyan associated with .900 centerpiece with removable sleeve. Might start with that name for searches. Good luck.

An excerpt from a 2013 auction write up: More than 70 lots of choice Indo-Persian silver, from a single-owner collection, are entered in the opening session. Leading the gleaming array is an elegant five-piece, .900-silver tea and coffee service decorated in heavy repousse style. Another top lot is a .900-silver centerpiece with liner signed "M. Tariliyan."

It seems to have been presented in an "Indo-Persian" silver auction
