Dear Members!
A friend bought this silver box with the glass. I said him, it's from the end of the 18. century. Can you confirm me?
I found this marks in the item. Can you help me about the maker?
Thank you in advance!
Best regards!

French box
Re: French box
No one can tell me anything about the marks?
Re: French box
In order to be sure, it would be necessary to have the item in my hands (or at last a better pic of the box), but it seems to me that the sugar box is probably an Hanau production from the end of the 19e c.
The marks are (copy or original ?) : Paris, 1786 and Paris, 1809-19 2nd standard.

Hello!
Thank you for your answer and opinion.
As it possible, i will make more pictures. What do you need, what would like to see?
What is your opinion about the marks? It seems to me original.
Best regards!

Re: French box
Hello Krisztián
In my opinion these marks look like perfectly legitimate French marks. I see a date letter mark of a crowned P for 1786, a charge mark of interlaced LL found on small objects 1783-1789, and a discharge mark of an eagle head from the same period. I can't make out the maker's mark, so no help there. It would be good to know where these marks are found. They should be on the body of the object as well as on the lid.
Hope this helps a bit.
