Hello everyone,
This is my first post on here, so apologies if I don't yet understand how it works / have posted on the wrong bit of the forum!
My Scottish partner has inherited a solid silver medal / medallion, which was once owned by his grandfather. He has no information beyond that unfortunately (for example about where his grandfather got it). It seems to have been made by Fattorini & Sons, UK silversmiths, around 1924 (based on the box it comes in, and the silver stamp on the back of the medallion). Unfortunately that company no longer exists, so I am unable to ask them about it directly.
Here are three photographs:

Could you possibly take a look and advise on what the item might be? We have of course googled it (including the 'Nobel 1925' inscription) but can't seem to find anything like it. We're not even sure it's anything to do with the Nobel Prize...
Any help or pointers would be greatly appreciated - thank you!

Hi,
Welcome to the Forum.
You will stand far more chance of getting responses if you embed your images, as very few members will click on links or thumbnails.

Hi Trev,
Thanks very much for your reply. I'm afraid I don't know how to embed images within posts on here, but I will have a google and see if I can work it out!
Cheers,
Kitty

Hi,
Your images cropped and resized.
Date letter ``Z`` for 1924/1925.
Interesting item, probably too big for watch chain fob.
Cannot tell if ‚‚Nobel‚‚ has any connection with Nobel award or custom made for a laureate.Nothing even close to be found.
Hopefully, posted images will attract more attention and responses.
Regards

I came back on here to try to have a go at posting my images, and found AG2012 had done it for me! Thank you so much, it's hugely appreciated :).
Also great to confirm the medallion dates to 1924/5, thank you.
I'll keep an eye out to see if anyone else can shed further light.
Thanks again!

There was Nitro Nobel, an explosives industry of Sweden (now part of Dyno Nobel)
They awarded medals, but not to be confused with the Nobel Prize. Three gold medals were awarded post WW II.
Your medal was possibly commissioned for business partners.
Just guessing, but makes sense, i.e. nothing to do with Nobel Prize laureates.

Maybe something to do with "The British Empire Exhibition Of 1925" is what I keep reading about?
Are there any letters on the edge of the medal?
